at a glance
This project involved the exploration of Josef Albers Color Theory and proving that the perception of color changed in context with other colors. The resulting project included the design of a mobile dating simulator that utilizes this theory in its storyline.

storyline
We created storyboards to explore different possible storylines that would be demonstrate Albers Color Theory.

color exploration
We discussed different color pairings that took into consideration how different colors might be affected due to context. We decided to go with a pink/ red-berry color theme to really push the romantic theme of the storyline.

dialogue
I developed comedic dialogue to introduce the gamer to the storyline, as well create distinct personality traits among our characters.

motion design
Introduction animation was explored first through storyboarding, and then through the Adobe XD smart animate tool.

my takeaways
The entire experience of ideating, designing, and developing this game was extremely rewarding and fun. I had the opportunity to learn about what's it like to experiment with character designs, story building, motion design, and developing a gaming interface. Overall, this was my favorite project of the 2020 year, and I'm thankful to have the opportunity to create such a unique project.
next steps
This project is no longer in progress. However, if I were to revisit I Love Hue, I would take a second look to refine some of the micro interactions of the screens, and do more usability testing on different mobile devices.
